Too funny...

So there you are, having a dinner party.....

Your parents are there,

Your in-laws are there,

Your boss and his wife are there,

The minister and his wife are there,

You're all settling down for a nice relaxing evening dinner,

Then in walks the dog.......

OK...this was sent to me in an email and I've been cracking up ever since...

HOT HOT HOT

It has been over 95 degrees here all week. It is really messing up my running. I guess I'll run on the stupid treadmill tonight in the air-conditioned basement. All three days this week, I have ran for about 22 minutes and then I'm just done. One day I got dizzy, the next day I just couldnt go any further, and then yesterday it was like I just ran out of gas. I could hardly even walk the rest of the way. I drank plenty of water and even brought gatorade along. I guess I'm just not acclimated to the heat yet.

One time at cheerleading camp, I got so hot I passed out. Cool, huh?!

My cat

My cat, Lammykins, is really 'into' birds...killing them, that is. She brings a dead bird up to the front porch at least one every other week. So far its been robins. Its been a little disturbing, but I just figure there is nothing I can do about it. So I go get the shovel and carry on with my bird burial ritual.

Well, last night I get home and go to let my miniature wiener dog out and there is my cat...batting around a young robin. I say young robin, cause you could tell it wasnt full grown but yet big enough to fly. It was still alive!! It had its mouth open and was making a horrible sound. I stood there in shock for what seemed like an hour. I grabbed up Lammykins and put her in the house. I went back to the bird and gently put its wing back to its body. (Its wings were all flared out, prolly cause it was so scared) It was breathing REALLY hard. I just felt awful. It had its head down and its little eyes closed. I just left it alone. About an hour later, I checked on it again. It was still breathing hard and had its head down. I said a little prayer "Please God take this little birds life if it has internal injuries so it doesnt suffer, or make it strong so it can go away...amen" I went to pet its little head and its eyes opened and it hopped a little bit away from me. But it was still breathing really hard.

I went to bed. My hubby leaves early and always lets the cat out. I told him to make sure and check on the bird. The bird was gone!! I was so happy. In my mind that meant the bird had lived!! I hope it did.

Is there anyway to keep my cat from killing birds in the neighborhood?? I know its just instinct and I've read that they bring the birds to there caregivers as 'presents'. I dont know...I love my cat and I love birds. Seeing that bird near death was rather tramatic.

Ok, my friend that lives across the street is turning 40 this Friday. We are having a surprise party for him. I need some gift ideas. He is married with one little girl. I already ordered Lawrence Welk's greatest hits cd. I also thought of a bottle of Geritol and some Depends.

Any ideas???

hmmmm interesting

Well, I've had quite an interesting three weeks. 3 Saturdays ago, I ate pancakes, eggs, and a huge oj. Promptly 2 hours later, I vomited all the OJ up. None of the food. Which I found to be quite odd. The next few days, I barfed up everything I ate. I went to the dr. and they said I had an ulcer and they gave me these horse pills to take. By Friday I felt like a million bucks.

By the next Saturday, I ran a 5K race and went to breakfast with my parents. (Pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon) Exactly 2 hours later, I threw up every single thing I ate. ANYWAY, I came to the conclusion that maybe I couldnt eat either pancakes or eggs. I went to McDonalds a few days later and ordered pancakes and ate them. I really hoped I wouldnt get sick, cause I love pancakes more than life itself. One hour passed, then two. YAY!! I didnt vomit!!

So, I guess I cant eat eggs. I've been eating eggs for 35 years and now all of the sudden I cant. Strange. Anyone else have this happen??

Speed drills = death

Well, now that my marathon training is over, I've decided to speed train. I am hoping to do my 5K faster. I did my first speed drill at the track last night. I seriously thought I would die. I did this thing I read in one of my magazines. You run around the track once as fast as you can and then jog 1/2 way around the track, then start again. I could only do 4 reps!! I just dont understand how I can run for 5 hours straight, but I cant go fast for very long. I may ditch this speed thing and try for an ultra marathon. 50 miles Baby!! I guess I need to get new tennis shoes too, since I figured it up and I've put almost 400 miles on the ones I have.

How far can you run without passing out?
