Stupid Side Stitch

Well, I thought I was over getting a side stitch, when I run, over a year ago. *sigh* I went to run 4 miles last night. It was a beautiful evening and not so hot. About mile 2, I got this horrendous side stitch. On the right side, just like old times. I started running with my arm over my head and breathing out through pursed lips. I'm sure I looked and sounded ridiculous. Well, it finally went away at about 3 1/2 miles... I wish they would figure out what causes this pain in my butt (er, side rather)!! It totally ruined my run.

Anyone have any tricks for getting rid of the dreaded side stitch any quicker?

Sweatin like a maniac

Thank goodness today has cooled off!! It was up to 107 degrees over the weekend. Running in it was brutal. Not to mention I run after work when its basically the hottest part of the day. I try to drink a ton during the work hours, but sometimes I still have to stop and walk. I will say this, no matter how far I run, I always come back home looking like I ran my ass off. ;)

I saw some Oakley sunglasses in my RW (Runners World) magazine that had ear phones attached to them. I was thinking...KICK ASS, I need those. I popped on to the website and almost had a heart attack. Almost 500 bucks!!! Crazy...I'll just keep singing in my head while I run.

Allergies and other bull

Well, its that time for me. Stupid allergies. My sinuses are constantly hurting, and I sneeze about 100 times a day. The best part is that feeling of glass or sand in your eyes. I've taken Allegra-D, but it made my heart feel like it was gonna jog right outside my chest, so I've opted to just live with the annoyance. A gal at work said I should go get tested to see what I'm allergic to. Do you know what they do for that test?!!? They stick a bunch of little needles in ya. NO thanks! There is a reason I dont have any tattoos, belly rings, etc... I have an unusually high tolerance for pain, but dont really like to endure it if I dont have to. Any of you know of any 'home remedy' for allergies?
