Cancun/Cozumel

We just got back from our wedding/honeymoon/vacation in Cancun. It was beautiful!! The above is a picture of me diving in Cozumel at Paradise Reef. We did 6 dives and this was by far the best one.

The wedding was beautiful. We married on the gazebo that went over the beach and overlooked the ocean. Everyone that was in the pool got out and watched the ceremony. Some were even taking pictures! I guess I should have gotten emails, so I could have seen thier pics too. lol
Chris and I really enjoyed it. The food was the only thing that left something to be desired. Our hotel was all inclusive with 5 different restaurants and strangly enough, they all tasted the same. Bland. We ate an authentic burrito in downtown Cozumel and it was NOT good. ACK! I immediately ate some Taco Bell when I got back. haha
Overall, it was a great time and we will definately go back some day. :)

Oh my goodness! I would love to go diving! I can't swim and am terrified of drowning, but diving, I'd be willing to try! Are you gonna post more pics?

Hola, my question is really more from one of our readers. Have you ever encountered a whale shark while diving? I ask because several people have expressed that they have snorkeled with whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, etc., etc., but want to know if they would find these types of sealife while diving as well? Obviously, getting a diving license from PADI is possible in Cancun, however is it worth doing while on vacation? That is the question that is proably most pertinent.

I've never swam with a whale shark. That would certainly be something to behold. We did see many sting rays and nurse sharks. We got our diving certification back home. I would NOT try to get a certification WHILE I was on vacation. Vacation is for enjoying. Getting your PADI certification is a course and should be taken very seriously. In my personal opinion, it should be done prior to your vacation/dive destination. It will make the dive much more enjoyable and relaxing.
