*Breakdown of my marathon

I forgot to post the breakdown of my marathon. Here it is...

It was 31 degrees at the start and it took me almost 4 minutes even to get there. I warmed up pretty quickly. Apparently there were almost 3700 runners!!!

Miles 1-6 went by REALLY fast! Talked to several other runners.
Miles 6-8 was on a bike trail adjacent to the Hwy. It was windy and cold! Still not feeling bad at all. Oh..and there is my aunt. Yay!
Miles 8-12 went pretty smoothly. Still feeling pretty good. I see that one of the runners is wearing a pig mask thing. Hmmm, dont try to understand...MUst keep going.
Miles 12 1/2 all the half marathoners are told to go right and all marathoners go straight. I am almost completely alone at this point. The whole group I was running with were half marathoners.
Mile 13. The air national guard has a water/gatorade stand. They were all chanting "hup hup hup, Lets go, good job" It was kinda neat.
Mile 14. There is my family. YAY!!! They are cheering me on. Still feel pretty good. RIght after I see my family, the 'elite' marathoners are coming my way about to finish!!!!! It astonishes me how fast they run. Not to mention, how effortless they ran. They looked really good too! Except for one guy. He had a white tank top on and apparently his nipples had been bleeding. It was disgusting!! He had blood running down to his legs!!! Ewwwwwwww (Must keep running, glad my nipples are intact!)
Mile 15-18. Start to feel a little fatigue. YAY! There is my hubby. He is standing by a lady and her baby. "wave at daddy, yay daddy" The daddy then proceed to say "F**K THIS" and gets in the car. (Must not quit, must keep going) Run by a zoo. Something is screaming...I suppose it was a bird or something. Kinda creepy.(MUst get past creepy zoo sound)
Mile 19. Run into a park. Some annoying radio lady is yelling into speakers. "You go white jacket!" (What a bitch, I hate her guts) I run by a lake. It was a beautiful blue and I wish I was laying in a hammock beside it. ( AM I EVER GONNA GET TO MILE 20??!!!!) Wish I was dead.
Mile 20. YAY! My family again! My sister runs with me around the loop. THere is a basket ball hoop set up and a man has a sign that says ' Make a basket and win a powerbar' IS HE KIDDING?!?! I'm pretty sure I cant lift my arms up. Hating his guts, as I pass him he says good job. Back through the park. (This is far as you've ever went, only 6 to go) The wind is at 35 mph now and running right into me.
Mile 21. Run back by the lake. Funny how it doesnt seem beautiful anymore. My thoughts were veering more to the idea of drowing myself in it. (I wish I were dead) Sooo windy!
Mile 22. Again with the annoying radio lady. (I wish she would fall off that trailer!)
Mile 23. YAY!! My hubby and in-laws. They ask how I'm doing. I reply...(I feel like death)
Mile 24. YAY!! There is my aunt and uncle. I yell at her (I dont know why anyone does this!!!) She replies, she doesnt either. And that she thinks I'm crazy.
Mile 25. (One mile to go....OMG this mile is neverending!!! DONT WALK, YOU CAN DO IT) (There is the corner, I'm almost there!!!)
The finish! I cross the line and proceed to stop and almost fall down. I recieve a medal and a red rose. I'm thinking to myself. (I've just ran 26.2 miles and all I get is the damn medal and rose!!!) Either way I did! I'm proud of myself, but tell everyone that I will NEVER do that again!!!

Thanks for all your support! I thought about you all! Sorry for the length!

My actual chip time was 5:11:19!!!

Near death experience!

This is a true story....seriously.

Monday night, I was watching Everwood and thought I would have an english muffin for a snack. Hubby was outside. I took a couple bites and out of nowhere, I choked. At first it was the annoying choke, and then my eyes burst with tears and I was violently choking. I ran to the bathroom and my hubby came in and said 'Whats wrong'. I pointed at my throat and started wheezing REALLY HARD. I seriously thought I was gonna die, then and there! I couldnt get any air and my esophagus felt like it was closed up completely!! I was frantic...wheezing really hard trying to even get a spec of air. My hubby yelled "JESUS, What do I do?!!!" And finally, I made myself try to calm down and was able to breathe a tiny bit. Hubby ran and got me a bottled water and I sipped it slowly. It was the scariest feeling ever. I threw away the rest of the muffin.

This morning I was sitting at the table eating and my hubby ran over and got behind me in the hymleck(sp?) position...LOL

I think that was as near to death as I've ever been, except for the time this boy held me under at the pool.

Post marathon blues

Well, my marathon has been done for 23 days, and I havent had a good run ever since. I developed an ulcer (probably from taking all the advil) It totally sucks! All I can eat is bland shit. No caffine, no citrus, no chocolate. Its a living hell. I'm not in a very good mood. I never knew that I ate that much spicy food until I couldnt have it. So..If you have any suggestions for a tasty, bland ass meal, LET ME KNOW!!

Sorry I havent been around. :(

Storms a brewing

Holy guacomole...its been forever since I've posted. I've been out of town and busier than hell. I just got back from this extremely boring safety conference in south Missouri. When I got back it started to rain. My hubby and I went out to eat and it turned pitch black in like a matter of minutes. By the time we were in the jeep, it was full out pouring. Another few blocks and the wind was blowing like nobodys business. It felt like we were in a typhoon. Some of the trees were literally laying almost flat to the ground.

But anyways, back to the safety conference. It was held at Lake of the Ozarks. My room had a lake view, so I got to go out on my deck and look down at the lake. Yesterday morning I was admiring a couple ducks, when all of the sudden....EEEEK...a water snake was slithering along. I was mesmorized by it for the longest time. It was disgusting. I kept wondering if I went down there and yanked it out of the water if it would bite me. Finally, I got bored watching it, so I went inside and watched tv.

Have a nice weekend.

** I DID IT !!**

I ran my first marathon!!! :) It was the hardest thing I have ever done mentally & physically!!! I did it in 5 hrs and around 11 minutes. I dont have my chip time yet. The last 6 miles was running directly into the wind (35 mph gusts) and uphill. I was dying!! I really thought it would never end during the last 2 miles. I can safely say that I will NEVER do one again. But, at least I can now say that "I've ran a marathon!" Thanks for all your motivational words. I'll tell you more about it on Tuesday!!
